19-YEAR-OLD CHARGED AFTER HANDGUN FOUND FOLLOWING DOMESTIC DISTURBANCE
Rhea County deputies were in search of the driver of a white Ford Fusion after he was wanted after a domestic disturbance that happened around noon Wednesday.
Roane County deputies were able to locate the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of Kingston Ave and Roane State Highway. The driver was identified as 19-year-old Alexander Harmon from Rockwood. Officers of Rockwood assisted and after checking the vehicle, several ounces of marijuana were located as well as digital scales and a Glock 21 handgun found in the trunk.
Harmon was taken to the county jail in Kingston and charged with:
- Possession of a Firearm during an Attempt to Commit a Dangerous Felony
- Manufacture, delivery, sale, or possession of Schedule VI drug (fine not greater than $50,000)
He was being held today on bonds totaling $7,500.
Rhea County also will have charges on him as well from the alleged domestic disturbance he had previously left there before being stopped in Rockwood.
