2 ARRESTED IN SODDY DAISY AFTER HOT PURSUIT CHASE

Two people were arrested after leading Soddy Daisy Police on a hot pursuit Wednesday night. An officer recognized the driver of a vehicle traveling on Harrison Lane as having a suspended license. The driver, later identified as Donovan Upton, increased his speed. The pursuit lasted approximately six miles until Upton swerved down a road to miss an oncoming train crossing Sandswitch Road. Upton was arrested along with a passenger, Jennifer Niznick. A search revealed a felony amount of methamphetamine. Upton has been charged with felony drug possession, felony evading, driving on a suspended license, and reckless endangerment. Niznick was previously charged last week with possession of a controlled substance.
