20 YEAR OLD CHARGED WITH HARMING 5 WEEK OLD INFANT
NASHVILLE, Tenn. —Monday evening a 20-year-old man was charged with two counts of aggravated child abuse for allegedly causing injuries to his five-week-old son. Joshua R. Lane was charged after the child was unresponsive and taken by his parents to Centennial Medical Center Sunday.
The baby was stabilized and transferred to Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital where doctors determined that the infant has life-threatening severe head trauma with little to no brain function, bruising, and healing fractured rib.
During an interview with lead Youth Services Detective Steffani Dahlstrom, Lane said that he zoned out and may have shaken the child.
