207 KILLED IN EXPLOSIONS IN SRI LANKA
An Easter Sunday tragedy occurred in Sri Lanka’s capital when explosions killed 207 people and injured hundreds more. Reports are coming in that there were eight blasts that rocked churches and hotels in and around the capital area. Defense Minister Ruwan Wijewardena, who described the blasts as a terrorist attack by religious extremists, told reporters that seven suspects had been arrested, though no one immediately claimed responsibility for the blasts. Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe said he feared the violence could trigger instability in the country and its economy.
