6-FOOT SNAKE SLITHERING ON BATHROOM FLOOR WHEN RESIDENT TRIED TO GET OUT OF SHOWER

Imagine finishing a nice hot shower and just about to step out to encounter a 6-foot snake slithering on the bathroom floor.

Such is the case for a Murfreesboro, Tennessee, resident over the 4th of July holiday weekend.

Trapper Jack Wildlife Specialist responded to the home and safely removed the rat snake.

Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency officials say this type of snake is one of the most abundant in the state. They live in woodlands, field edges, near streams and around farms and suburban areas. Gray rat snakes take shelter in woodpiles, hollow trees, barns and old houses.

For snakes even very small gaps provide easy to access to homes where they seek food, such as rats and mice that may have gone ahead of them or a safe place to lay eggs. Rat snakes are non-venomous and can kill rats and mice by constriction.
