A student of Carpenters Elementary School was taken to UT Medical Center yesterday after being struck by the very bus he was waiting on.

The report by Blount County Sheriff’s office says the accident occurred around 7:15 a.m. near the area of Peabody Drive, and the 6-year-old boy is being treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Deputies continue to investigate the accident, but no charges have been filed as of Thursday evening.
