60 DEGREES FOR CHRISTMAS

Temperatures dropped down to 18 degrees in Crossville this morning and I am expecting about 25 tonight. Friday is looking partly sunny with a high near 50 and Saturday mostly cloudy and 52 degrees. If you are planning travel South, rain is expected across Alabama and Georgia and Florida but much of it will stay south of Tennessee. Christmas Eve and Christmas Day are looking Sunny with high temperatures near 60 and just some scattered passing clouds. Winter begins officially Saturday night, December 21st at 10:19 pm Central Time. It is the day with the fewest hours of sunlight and the longest night of the whole year. The Sun is also now at its lowest point in the sky of the year. The days then start getting longer after the 21st with the sun setting about 30 seconds later each day so we gain about six minutes of Sunshine by the end of December and 36 minutes by the end of January. When looking at them, did you know that planets don’t twinkle but Stars often do.
