Rockwood, TN- One female driver was injured after her vehicle struck a utility pole on East Wheeler Street last night just before 11:30 PM.  As Rockwood Police arrived at the scene, they noticed power lines in the road and a power pole severed. The female driver identified as 70-year-old Judy L. Hayes from Rockwood was traveling east in a 2009 Lincoln MKZ when she first hit a street sign at Parron Lane, then veering off the left side of Wheeler striking a culvert then hitting the utility pole where the car came to a rest.

Hayes was the lone occupant and was taken to the hospital. The report stated that she smelled of alcohol as she was being transported by ambulance to Roane Medical Center. The report also stated she was charged with DUI. East Wheeler Street between Patton Lane and Church Street had to be blocked off due to the accident scene and the downed lines and as well as to allow Rockwood Electric to do electrical line repair.
