71 YEAR OLD MADISONVILLE WOMAN ATTACKED BY MULTIPLE DOGS

On September 6, 2025, Monroe County deputies responded to a dog attack at 2569 Fairview Rd, Madisonville, where they found 71-year-old Mary Norwood severely injured on her front porch, suffering from lacerations caused by an attack involving approximately 10-15 pit bull mix dogs.
Witnesses and bystanders managed to secure the dogs away from the victim, who was treated on-site by Monroe County EMS and then transported to the University of Tennessee Hospital for further care. Following an investigation by Monroe County Criminal Investigation Division Detectives and Animal Control Officers, 27 dogs were removed from a nearby residence at 2571 Fairview Rd.
Four individuals—Clayton Warren Davis, Sara June Burris, Ricky Lee Burris, and Sheila Jenene Kryzak—were charged with Animals at Large Resulting in Serious Injury, a Class E Felony, with additional charges pending.
Sara June Burris also faced charges for Possession of Paraphernalia, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Introduction of Contraband Into a Penal Facility.
