RHEA COUNTY MAN CHARGED WITH BEATING 10-MONTH-OLD CHILD
A 10-month-old child is recovering from a beating from a Rhea County man. James Earl Alexander has been charged with aggravated child abuse. Dayton Authorities received information on the infant at Children’s Hospital in Chattanooga. She was admitted with severe bruising in her neck, back, and shoulders. Detectives say that the baby and another child were placed in Alexander’s care for a short time last Friday. When the mother returned home, Alexander ran away. He was later located near the Walmart in Dayton. The child has been released from the hospital with a fracture in one hand and lots of severe bruising.
