A Bowman Loop woman contacted Cumberland County deputies Tuesday evening about a theft of property from an outbuilding.

She said several days earlier, a man had helped her get her car home after it broke down and helped her fix it. The next day he returned with four friends, hanging around outside and helping her with her car until her husband came home and had them leave.

Then, sometime overnight, she said, someone broke into their outbuilding and stole several items valued at $2,200.

Items include a handheld string trimmer, a chainsaw, a toolbox with miscellaneous tools, a leaf blower, two power drills, gas-powered hedge trimmer, a power washer, a brand-new drill, a laptop computer and a 48-inch flat-screen television.

An investigation is underway.
