FORMER TENNESSEE POLICE CHIEF INDICTED

FORMER TENNESSEE POLICE CHIEF INDICTED

A former Tennessee police chief has been indicted after an investigation by the TBI. Special agents vegan the probe into missing funds from the Tellico Plains Police Dept. Drug Fund back in Feb. 2019. Approximately $840 was discovered missing which led to the discovery that then-chief James Russell Parks Jr. was responsible. The TBI further determined that the 44-year-old Parks was involved in a sexual relationship with an informant who had been paid out of the department’s drug fund. An indictment was returned by the Monroe County grand jury last week. Parks has been charged with one count of official misconduct.
