Some Roane County officials are concerned about a TVA “lunch and learn” event that was held yesterday. The event was reportedly closed to the public and open to only invited elected officials. The purpose of the lunch was to go over the ongoing and future work to manage coal combustion residuals at the TVA plant in Kingston. Roane County, as well as Kingston and Harriman, are suing TVA and the contractor responsible for the ash spill clean-up. TVA is planning an open house for the public next month but a date and time has not been determined yet.
