A jury needed about an hour to convict an individual for attempted murder in Anderson County. Fifty-one year old McKinley Earl McGee received the maximum sentence this week of 20 years in prison. Along with the attempted murder charge, McGee also faced aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and aggravated assault resulting in serious injury in the January 2018 stabbing of Machel Avery at a home on Utica Circle . Avery survived the stabbing. A motion for a new trial has already been filed. That motion will be heard in court in November.
