A man charged with the rape of a child was sentenced this week in Putnam County Criminal Court. 33-year-old Landon Paul Powers received 30 years to serve at 100 percent. He will also be on the sex offender registry for life. An indictment accused Powers of raping his girlfriend’s 10-year-old daughter two years ago. District Attorney Bryant Dunaway said a doctor found the girl to be pregnant and the investigation identified Powers as the father of the baby. The victim delivered the baby at the age of 11-years-old.
