“FOOD TAX HOLIDAY ACT” BILL PROPOSED BY TENNESSEE LAWMAKER

Tennessee State Representative Patsy Hazelwood has introduced House Bill 1697 called “The Food Tax Holiday Act”. The bill, if passed, would exempt sales taxes on food and food ingredients in the months of June and July of 2020. The proposed bill is similar to the annual sales tax holiday held in Tennessee. No word yet on when state lawmakers will consider or vote on the food tax holiday bill.
