PUTNAM COUNTY METH DEALER ARRESTED

The Putnam County Sheriff’s Office Drug Investigation Division arrested an alleged drug dealer and seized almost a pound of meth.

Officers say 39-year-old Gregory Howard of Cookeville was taken into custody after investigators discovered he was in possession of approximately 14 oz of meth, $10,256 in cash and items used for the sale and delivery of drugs.

The Putnam County Sheriff’s Office participated in an investigation which led to the execution of the search warrant at Howard’s residence at 165 Dale Lane in Cookeville. The sheriff’s office was assisted by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation and the HIDTA Middle Tennessee Taskforce.

Howard was charged with manufacture/deliver/sale of meth which is a Class A felony in amounts over 300 grams. Gregory Howard’s bond was set at $100,000.

This is Howard’s 30th arrest in Putnam County.

He was recently released from the Morgan County Correctional Complex where he had served a four-year-sentence for possession of methamphetamine and a concurrent sentence of two years for evading arrest.
