The Tennessee State Fair in Nashville will not take place this year because of the coronavirus pandemic. State Fair Manager Scott Jones says the Tennessee State Fair Association met twice last week to discuss what to do about this year’s fair, which was scheduled for September 11-20, 2020. He said there was concern about meeting health care restrictions and recommendations, especially with a smaller space as a result of construction of the new soccer stadium.

In Knoxville, officials with the Tennessee Valley Fair announced their event will not take place this year because of the same reasons.

Both major fairs promise to return in 2021.
