An investigation by the TBI has resulted in the indictment of a Fentress County man accused of having inappropriate sexual contact with a minor.

Officers began investigating 21-year-old Stewart Dwain Matthews after he reportedly engaged in sexual activity with a 14-year-old female.

A Fentress County Grand Jury yesterday returned an indictment charging Matthews with one count of statutory rape. He turned himself last night and was booked into the jail on a $1,000 bond.
