SOME CHARGES DROPPED AGAINST RHEA COUNTY MAN ACCUSED OF SHOOTING DEPUTY

Rhea County court officials say an assault and domestic assault charge against a man are dropped stemming from an incident where he allegedly shot a deputy. A reason was not initially released. Two larger offenses, attempted homicide and aggravated assault, were bound over to a grand jury for possible indictments against 55-year-old Keith H. Miller. Back in June, deputies responded to a disturbance on Morgan Springs Road. During the incident, Miller reportedly shot Deputy Eric McMillian who recovered.
