The Upper Cumberland Veteran’s Cemetery will be located on just over 120 acres of land on Country Club Road in Sparta after the state finalized the purchase. Officials are working on a grant application to pay for the site being prepared along with the construction of service buildings. This comes after a proposal to put the cemetery on around 90 acres of land off of Cook Road in Cumberland County fell apart earlier this year.
