BREAKING SPORTS NEWS – Josh Heupel will be the next U.T. head football coach.

(PREVIOUS STORY) – Volquest is reporting University of Central Florida’s (UCF) head coach Josh Heupel appears to be the top candidate for the head football coaching position at the University of Tennessee.

New Athletic Director Danny White came from UCF. The research firm hired to assist in the search for a new coach has involved other candidates.

Heupel has been the head coach at UCF since 2018. During his three seasons there, the Knights have won 28 games and lost 8.

Sources say the University of Tennessee is now finalizing a deal with Heupel to be the next head football coach.

White has a meeting scheduled with the Tennessee Volunteer football team this morning (Wednesday, January 27, 2021) and an announcement could be made public as early as later today.
