MORE THAN 11,000 NEW UNEMPLOYMENT CLAIMS FILED IN TENNESSEE

More than 11,000 new unemployment claims were filed in Tennessee last week, according to data released today by the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce.
The number of new claims for the week ending January 30 was 11,497, down by 553 from the previous week when 12,050 new claims were filed.
The number of continued unemployment claims in the state was 54,280 for the week ending January 30, up by more than 5,000 from the previous week, when there were 48,996 continued claims.
A total of 1,044,692 new unemployment claims have been filed in Tennessee since March 14, 2020.
