The Oliver Springs Town Council last night unanimously approved the hiring of David Laxton as the new police chief. Laxton has 16 years’ experience serving in the department. Laxton had been interim chief for the past 6 weeks after Kenneth Morgan was relieved of his duties by Mayor Omer Cox in late March.
