MULTIPLE PATIENTS TRANSPORTED FOR INJURIES FOLLOWING I-75 ACCIDENT

Tennessee Highway Patrol officials released initial information regarding a multi-vehicle accident yesterday afternoon on I-75 in Loudon County. Six people were transported for injuries following the crash. Two were taken to a hospital by air, two by ground and two by private vehicle.
The accident involved a tractor trailer, and SUV and a minivan. There were eight total occupants, but only six were hurt.
The incident took place when the tractor trailer came into contact with the SUV from behind at mile marker 72 north, which caused the SUV to impact with the minivan. The minivan traveled off the interstate.
Northbound traffic was backed up for over 10 miles at one point because of the accident.
A full report, including the names of those involved, will be released soon by the highway patrol.
