At around 1 a.m. Sunday morning, the Crossville fire department was dispatched to North Street to a house fire. An ambulance was dispatched for one resident. At around the same time the Cumberland County Fire Department was dispatched to a fire at the Royal Oak plant near Mayland for a fire in a conveyor belt. Sunday afternoon a brush fire was reported on Paul Gentry Road. Wood fires may become a problem over the next couple of days as it warms up and the wind increases through Wednesday.
