SEVERE WEATHER THREAT: MIDDLE AND EAST TENNESSEE BRACES FOR DAMAGING WINDS AND LARGE HAIL ON SUNDAY

Sunday is shaping up to be quite eventful for Middle and East Tennessee. All forms of severe weather are possible, with the primary hazards being damaging winds exceeding 60 mph and large hail. Tornadoes and flash flooding are also potential threats, but the risk of straight-line winds is particularly high.

Regarding the timing, there is some uncertainty. We might experience two waves of storms: one in the afternoon and the “main” line at night. Alternatively, we could only see the main line tomorrow night. Regardless, stay weather aware throughout the day.

It’s crucial to have multiple methods for receiving warnings; don’t rely on just one, including social media. Lastly, ensure you know your safety plan if a warning is issued.
