Funeral Services for Betty Ruth Simpson, age 91, of Monterey, Tennessee, will be conducted on Saturday, August 17, 2024, at 1:00 PM from The Chapel of Goff Funeral Home. Rev. Tony Phipps and Rev. Danny Allen will officiate with interment to follow in the Welch Memorial Cemetery. Mrs. Simpson was born on May 1, 1933, in Harriman, Tennessee, to the late James Amos Collins Sr. and Jessie Johnson Collins. Mrs. Simpson passed away on Sunday, August 11, 2024, at Overton County Health and Rehab Center in Livingston, Tennessee. Mrs. Simpson was a homemaker and a good cook. She loved her children and grandchildren. She was a gentle, patient, and loving person that never met a stranger. She was a member of Sand Springs Baptist Church. She is survived by, 2 daughters and a son-in-law, Norma and Darrell Moody of Jamestown, TN, Joyce McWhorter of Albany, KY; 1 son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Dawn Simpson of Algood, TN; 5 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of almost 73 years on July 19, 2024, Charles Allen Simpson; son-in-law, Michael McWhorter; her brothers and sister, Florence Brown, Clyde Collins, James Amos Collins Jr., Gene Collins, Paul Collins, and David Collins.
