ROANE EMERGENCY SERVICES WARNS OF DROUGHT CONDITIONS AND BURNING

From the Roane County (TN) Office of Emergency Services & Homeland Security:
With the current drought conditions, please be cautious and aware of your surroundings when burning outdoors. As of right now, no burn permits are required to burn in the county (outside city jurisdictions). Burn permits are required October 15 through May 15.
Drought conditions can increase the probability of large-scale out of control wildfires. Should you choose to burn outdoors, make sure you are doing so away from structures and have a water resource nearby and never leave the fire unattended. If your fire does get out of control and damages someone else’s property, you are responsible for all damages.
