STATE FORESTS CLOSED DUE TO WEATHER

The Tennessee Wildlife Resource Agency and Protect Tennessee Forests report that the following state forests will be closed from Friday (9/27) to Sunday (9/29) due to severe weather in the state’s eastern half. They will reopen on Monday (9/30) morning.

🌳 Bledsoe State Forest
🌳 Standing Stone State Forest
🌳 Pickett State Forest
🌳 Scott State Forest
🌳 Lone Mountain State Forest
🌳 Chuck Swan State Forest
🌳 Martha Sundquist State Forest
🌳 John Tully State Forest
Weather forecasts are expecting Hurricane Helene to impact Tennessee, bringing strong winds and heavy rain, especially in the eastern half of the state. These conditions are likely to cause power outages, flooding, downed trees, and landslides.
Many areas in East Tennessee are currently under high wind and flood warnings.
