Chris W. McCarty, of the Lewis Thomason law firm in Knoxville, was recently selected by the Cumberland County School Board to serve as the school board attorney.

McCarty’s qualifications include being a former teacher of two years at Sevier County’s Seymour Middle School before enrolling at the University of Tennessee College of Law; serving as an adjunct professor at the UT College of Law for the past 4 years teaching the university’s only education law course; provides legal services for over 25 public School systems in Tennessee from Bristol to Jamestown to Sweetwater; and offers training programs to school board members, administrators, teachers, counselors, and more throughout the state of Tennessee each school year.
