On Monday, Deputy Nathan Lewis was dispatched to Factory Direct Marine and RV in reference to a theft. Upon arrival, he spoke with a representative who said he had been prepping a unit for resale and noticed some items missing from one of the campers, and that he had questioned employees about the missing items and nobody had seen anything.

He then asked management to check the cameras to see if the items could be located. Deputy Lewis then spoke with a woman who advised me that she had observed an employee stealing and placing items into his vehicle. The deputy also observed the employee on camera loading the items into his vehicle. The employee was identified as Cody Eling.

Lewis spoke to Eling and read him his Miranda Rights, and Eling admitted to taking the items from the business and told Deputy Lewis the items were at his home in Spring City. After getting consent to search, Investigator Wirey and Deputy Lewis responded to Eling’s residence where they were able to locate the stolen items.

Eling was taken into custody and transported to intake for booking.
