SANDBAGGER’S SIGN VANDALIZED; $1,350 IN DAMAGE

On Friday, Officer Justin Farmer received a name and number from dispatch regarding property damage and possible vandalism. The officer spoke with a man who said he was in the process of remodeling a restaurant on Confederate Road called Sandbagger’s and that he had been out of town. The last time he was on the property was on the 15th.
He said that on the 21st, a friend drove by the property and observed that the flagpole was down and the new sign that the man had recently put up was leaning over like it had been hit or pulled and the friend had sent pictures.
Once on scene, the officer observed the flagpole and the stone marker were lying on the ground and appeared to have either been pulled or run over. There were signs of tire marks in the yard and rut marks in the ditch next to Peavine Road that appeared to be at least a day or two old.
The sign was leaning toward Confederate Road and had signs that something had been tied to the right sign leg and had squeezed in the pipe protecting the power cable attached to the sign leg. The unearthed dirt around the sign poles, the flagpole, and the property marker was partially settled.
The total cost to repair or replace the damaged items was approximated to be $1,350.
Currently, there are no known suspects or witnesses, as well as no known video footage of the incident. However, the owner of Leisure Kraft Pontoons said that he had a camera that faced the area of the Sandbaggers restaurant, but he was unable to access it and see if there was a recording of the incident until his it support could visit.
