RSCC – Roane State’s Marcus Black has been named the Tennessee Community College Athletic Association (TCCAA) Region 7 Men’s Basketball Player of the Week.

The sophomore guard has put on a stellar performance the last few games, averaging 23 points and 8 rebounds, and helping Roane State secure back-to-back conference wins.

Black led the team in points scored against Walters State, hitting a career-high with 29. The Raiders won that contest, 80-71.

He also played a major role in Roane State’s conference win over Southwest Tennessee on February 1, putting a total of 17 points on the board for the Raiders. It was a decisive win for Roane State with a final score of 93-45.

Black has started 20 games so far this season for the Raiders. Up next, he will take the court against Motlow State as RSCC looks to secure a third-straight conference win on February 5.
