Goff – Funeral Services for Wilma Brown, age 91, of Monterey, Tennessee, will be conducted on Monday, June 30, 2025, at 12:00 PM from The Chapel of Goff Funeral Home. Rev. Tony Barnett will officiate with interment to follow in the Highland Cemetery in Sparta, Tennessee. Ms. Brown was born on Monday, September 4, 1933, in Monterey, Tennessee, to the late Fate Dibrell “Dib” and Iva Lenora “Ivy” Welch Walker. Ms. Brown passed away on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, at the Cookeville Regional Medical Center after a brief illness. Ms. Brown retired from Fleetguard/Cummins Filtration after many years of service. She was a member of Monterey First Free Will Baptist Church where her father was a charter member when the church began. She deeply loved her Lord, family, friends, and her church and was loved by many in return. She is survived by her 2 sons and a daughter-in-law, Ronnie Brown of Monterey, TN, Kevin and Erin Brown of Falling Waters, WV; 1 daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Kenneth Akers of Murfreesboro, TN. She was Granny to her grandsons, Brandon (June) Akers, and Ryan (Lindsey) Akers; granddaughters, Ashley Brown and Kayte Brown; and great grandchildren, Riley Akers, Lawson Akers, McGuire Akers, Addy Akers, Zander Akers, Liam Carmichael and Lyle Carmichael; sister, Elliene Smith Gaw of Cookeville, TN; special nieces, Janice Stephens and Gena Osborne, and special nephew, George Hall. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Deborah Diane “Little Debbie” Brown; and sister, Claudine Hall.
