OAK RIDGE TO HOLD COMMUNITY MEETING TO ADDRESS MASS SHOOTING

The City of Oak Ridge, Tennessee, is hosting a community meeting on July 1, 2025, at 5:30 p.m. at the Scarboro Community Center (148 Carver Ave.) to address safety concerns following a mass shooting and stabbing at a block party on May 8, 2025.
The incident left nine people shot, one stabbed, and two dead, prompting discussions about gun violence and community resources in the historically Black Scarboro neighborhood.
City leaders and police will engage with residents to discuss solutions and improve safety.
