WALMART RECALLS AROUND 850,000 STEEL WATER BOTTLES; TWO PEOPLE BLINDED

On July 10, 2025, a recall was issued for approximately 850,000 Ozark Trail 64 oz Stainless Steel Insulated Water Bottles due to a hazard where the lid can forcefully eject, posing serious impact and laceration risks. This issue occurs when the bottles, identified by model number 83-662, are used to store food, carbonated beverages, or perishable drinks like juice or milk over time.

The silver bottles, featuring a black screwcap lid and an Ozark Trail logo, were sold exclusively at Walmart stores and Walmart.com since 2017 for about $15. Three incidents have been reported, including two cases of permanent vision loss from lids striking consumers in the face.

Consumers should immediately stop using the bottles and contact Walmart at 800-925-6278 or online at www.walmart.com/help or https://corporate.walmart.com/recalls for a full refund, which can be obtained by returning the bottle to a Walmart store. The bottles were manufactured in China and imported by Olympia Tools International Inc. and Walmart Inc.
