11 ARRESTED IN JOINT PROPERTY CRIMES OFFENDER OPERATION IN KNOXVILLE
Earlier this week, the Knoxville Police Department partnered with the Knox County Sheriff’s Office and Tennessee Department of Corrections Parole and Probation to conduct a property crimes offender operation. The two-day operation was a part of the KPD’s ongoing efforts to proactively address persistent property crimes and repeat offenders.
In preparation for the operation, KPD Property Crimes detectives and Crime Analysts with the assistance of KCSO and Parole and Probation identified numerous individuals with outstanding warrants related to property crime, with a focus on individuals who are currently on parole or probation. On Tuesday and Wednesday, KPD and KCSO each deployed teams in the field to attempt to locate and arrest the individuals who were identified.
The operation resulted in the arrest of 11 individuals with outstanding warrants. That included five individuals with felony theft charges and three individuals with violations of probation or parole for previous property crime charges.
One of the individuals arrested during the operation, 34-year-old Zachary Littleton, had eight outstanding warrants, including for felony theft, felony evading arrest, and assault on a first responder.
“Property crimes impact quality of life and the sense of safety in our community,” KPD Deputy Chief and Investigations Bureau Commander Joe McHale said. “We take our mission to prevent those crimes and address the individuals who commit them seriously. I greatly appreciate our officers and partners for their collaborative and intentional efforts to plan and execute this operation, which will undoubtedly prevent future property crimes.”
