Joe Roper age 47 of Spring City, Tennessee died on Tuesday, July 29, 2025 at Rhea Medical Center.

He was born on September 4, 1977 and has been a resident of this area since 2006. Joe was a graduate of Meigs County High School. He drove a truck for many years and worked at La-Z-Boy. Joe presently worked at Huber Corporation. He was also a volunteer fireman and a member of the Rhea County Rescue Squad. Joe enjoyed off-roading, fishing, hunting, and being outdoors. He loved to work on things, especially cars and fabricating metals. Joe was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include his wife Amber Ervin Roper of Spring City, Tennessee; his parents Jim and Jane Tocknell Roper of Decatur, Tennessee; his children Tricia Morales of Spring City, Tennessee, Wesley Roper, Logan (Seleana) Roper, and Zoey Roper all of Decatur, Tennessee, and Jeremy Frost and Jacquelyn Roper (Christopher Rubel) both of Dayton, Tennessee; his brothers Jeremiah Roper of Decatur, Tennessee and Jeremy Neeley of Cleveland, Tennessee; his sister Jessica (Charlie) Godsey of Decatur, Tennessee; and his two grandchildren Mathis Morales and Joseph Rubel.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 2, 2025 at 4:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Vaughn Funeral Home with Rev. Neal Pillion officiating. The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 2, 2025 from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. at Vaughn Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be given to your local Fire Department or Rescue Squad in his memory.
