BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee (BCBST) announced on Friday morning that it is laying off approximately 95 employees and eliminating 28 vacant positions due to rising insurance costs. According to Dayla Qualls White, senior vice president and chief communications officer, these layoffs will occur in phases between September 2025 and early 2026.

The decision follows a previous announcement in July, when BCBST disclosed plans to cut 150 jobs, with those layoffs beginning on September 1. White acknowledged the personal impact of these decisions, stating that affected employees will receive several weeks’ notice, generous severance packages, and job search assistance.

No specific final employment date was provided for the latest round of layoffs.
