TWELVE CINNAMON BRANDS RECALLED NATIONWIDE FOR LEAD

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has issued a recall for twelve cinnamon brands sold across the United States due to elevated lead levels, warning that consuming these products may be unsafe and urging consumers to discard them immediately.

The recalled brands include El Chilar (El Torito Market), Marcum (Save-A-Lot), SWAD (Patel Brothers), Supreme Tradition (Dollar Tree), Compania Indillor Orientale and ALB Flavor (Eurogrocery), Shahzada (Premium Supermarket), Spice Class (Fish World), La Frontera, Jiva Organics (Taj Supermarket, California), Super Brand (Asian Supermarket, Little Rock, Arkansas), and Asli (A&Y Global Market, Columbia, Missouri).

The FDA notes that long-term exposure to the affected cinnamon could lead to elevated blood lead levels, potentially causing health issues, though no illnesses or adverse events have been reported in connection with these products as of the recall notice.
