PUTNAM COUNTY FIREFIGHTERS RESPOND TO DODSON BRANCH HOUSE FIRE

From the Putnam County Fire Department:
At approximately 1:45 PM on Thursday, October 2, 2025, the Putnam County Fire Department was dispatched to a reported residential structure fire in the 5000 block of Dodson Branch Road.
Upon arrival, crews encountered heavy smoke coming from the home. A rapid interior attack was initiated, allowing firefighters to quickly bring the fire under control and prevent further damage to the structure.
The home was unoccupied at the time of the incident. Following an investigation, the fire was determined to be cooking-related, originating from a stove that had been left on. The most significant fire damage was contained to the kitchen and dining areas.
Crews remained on scene for just under two hours. The American Red Cross was contacted to assist the homeowner.
