TWO KILLED, ONE INJURED IN DEKALB COUNTY SHOOTING
WJLE Radio reports a tragic overnight shooting taking place in the Austin Bottom area of DeKalb County, where two individuals were killed and one was injured on October 15, 2025. DeKalb County Sheriff Patrick Ray reported that deputies responded to a call at approximately 7:32 PM on Vickers Ridge Road in Baxter, where they discovered two males and one female suffering from gunshot wounds.
One male and the female were pronounced dead at the scene, with their identities withheld pending family notifications. The surviving male was airlifted by helicopter to an undisclosed hospital for treatment. Authorities from the Putnam County Sheriff’s Department and EMS assisted DeKalb County responders on site, while the District Attorney General’s Office and the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) were also present.
The TBI has taken over the investigation, and additional details may be released later once notifications are complete.
