From the Cookeville Police Department:

On Saturday, October 18, 2025, at approximately 2:14 AM, Cookeville Police Department patrol officers were dispatched to a report of a stabbing on Miller Avenue in Cookeville, TN. Officers arrived on scene and located one adult male victim with an apparent stab wound. The suspect was detained at the scene without incident.

The victim, identified as 40-year-old, Shawn Torres, was airlifted to a Nashville area hospital where he was later pronounced deceased.

The suspect, identified as 40-year-old female, was detained and interviewed by detectives. Following a preliminary investigation, no charges have been filed at this time.
