Funeral Services for Joanna Looper, age 86, of Monterey, Tennessee, will be conducted on Sunday, October 26, 2025, at 2:00 PM from The Chapel of Goff Funeral Home. Rev. Gerald Phillips and Rev. Harlon Thompson will officiate with interment to follow in the Looper Cemetery. Mrs. Looper was born on Tuesday, June 13, 1939, in Overton County, Tennessee, to the late Frank Denton Bowman and Hilda Frances Norrod Bowman. Mrs. Looper passed away on Friday, October 24, 2025, at her home. She married the love her life Rev. Hoyt D. Looper on December 19, 1959, and was a devoted pastor’s wife for 61 years. She worked at Fleetguard from 1965-2003, serving several responsibilities including working in the sewing room, housing, the press department, and ending her career in quality control. She was selected to travel to China in 1997 to train employees at Fleetguard’s new plant. She loved to garden, tend to her beautiful flower beds, and canning her fresh vegetables. She had a servant’s heart and nothing brought her more joy than cooking and caring for others. She made many memories with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Joanna is known for her love of the Lord, kind heart, gentle spirit, and the warmth she shared with everyone who entered her home. Her kindness touched countless lives, and her legacy of love and generosity will live on through those she cherished most. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Sherri and Mike Lee of Morristown, TN; granddaughter, Brittany Turner (Cody Sauceman) of Morristown, TN; grandson, Brandon Lee (Lauren Neal) of Cookeville, TN; great grandchildren, Lakelyn Turner and Canaan Turner; 2 sisters and a brother-in-law, Frankie and Phil Ballenger of Rickman, TN, Lola Dean Qualls of Battle Creek, MI; sisters-in-law, Flossie Bowman of Rickman, TN, Helen Looper of Cookeville, TN. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Hoyt D. Looper; son, Terry Glen Looper; brother, Rastus Bowman; brothers-in-law, Charles Qualls and Kyle Looper. The family will receive friends at Goff Funeral Home on Saturday, October 25, 2025, from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM.
