Funeral Services for Jay Sewell Walker, age 89, of Monterey, Tennessee, will be conducted on Monday, October 27, 2025, at 3:00 PM from The Chapel of Goff Funeral Home. Rev. Bobby Floyd will officiate with interment to follow in the Shady Grove Cemetery with Full Military Honors Provided by the Veterans Honor Guard. Mr. Walker was born on Sunday, March 15, 1936, in Monterey, Tennessee, to the late George Franklin and Lola Etta Stamps Walker. Mr. Walker passed away on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at NHC Healthcare of Cookeville. Mr. Walker was a carpenter working side-by-side with his dad and brother, building structures and family legacy based on hard work, trust, and shared skill. He was a United States Army Veteran serving as a Military Mail Clerk and took much pride in his job and valued the importance of it his whole life. He was a proud Uncle that loved all his nieces and nephews and made each one feel special. He is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Dale and Mertie Walker of Monterey, TN; and a host of nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Emogene Pettit and Pauline Buckner; brothers, Edgar, Lee Earl, Billy Ray, and Jack Walker; and niece, Angie Walker Parker.
