MARYVILLE MAN CHARGED WITH VEHICULAR HOMICIDE AFTER FATAL CRASH IN ALCOA

On Friday evening, October 24, 2025, a fatal two-vehicle crash occurred in Alcoa, Tennessee, at the intersection of Williams Mill Road and Oak Hill Drive around 7:51 p.m., prompting an investigation by the Alcoa Police Department. Jesse Malone, a 31-year-old Maryville resident, was driving a black Honda Pilot when he was struck by a white Ford van driven by 33-year-old Ronald Weaver, also of Maryville.
Malone, unresponsive due to severe injuries, was taken to Blount Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Authorities reported that Weaver had been involved in a prior hit-and-run crash on Old Knoxville Highway at Pellissippi Parkway, where he sideswiped another vehicle and fled at high speed. While escaping, Weaver failed to maintain his lane on a blind curve, leading to the collision with Malone’s vehicle.
Weaver refused medical treatment at the scene and was arrested, facing charges including leaving the scene of a crash, two counts of reckless endangerment, driving under the influence, vehicular homicide, and failure to maintain his lane. The Alcoa Police Department’s deadly crash investigation team is actively investigating, and anyone with information is urged to contact Sergeant Smiley at 865-981-4111.
