BARKU PLASTICS SHOOTER IDENTIFIED
From the Cleveland Police Department:
CLEVELAND, Tenn. — On Monday, October 27, 2025, at approximately 10:21 a.m., officers from the Cleveland Police Department responded to reports of gunfire at Barku Plastics, located at 131 Corporate Drive SW in Cleveland, Tennessee.
Officers discovered two deceased males, identified as Tobias Gleinig and Ivan Aldergot, both employees of Barku Plastics. Evidence at the scene indicates that both victims sustained fatal gunshots. The incident is being investigated as a double homicide. Preliminary findings indicate that the suspect, also employed by Barku Plastics, was in the process of being terminated from his position with the company.
Following the initial response, investigators quickly identified a possible suspect who had fled the scene in a vehicle. That vehicle was later located at a residence in Bradley County, outside the Cleveland city limits.
Through a joint effort of intelligence gathering and sharing between the Cleveland Police Department and the Bradley County Sheriff’s Office, law enforcement agencies immediately established a perimeter and began a coordinated tactical operation. Over the course of several hours, officers and specialized units utilized advanced technology, including two robots and an aerial drone, to ensure a safe entry into the residence.
Inside the home, officers located a deceased male in a bedroom, believed to have died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The individual was later identified as Kyle Steven Crandell, (DOB: 07/22/87) who has been confirmed as the suspect responsible for the fatal shootings of Tobias Gleinig and Ivan Aldergot.
The incident concluded following a six-hour standoff at 146 Westview Lane SE in Cleveland, Tennessee, which has been confirmed as Crandell’s residence.
The Cleveland Police Department continues to work closely with the Bradley County Sheriff’s Office, the 10th Judicial District Attorney’s Office, and other partnering agencies to complete the investigation and provide closure to the victims’ families and the community.
