TRAFFIC STOP IN MONROE COUNTY LEADS TO FENTANYL ARREST
From the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office:
On November 4, 2025, MCSO Bravo Shift Deputies conducted a traffic stop on a Ford Ranger for a vehicle infraction on New Highway 68 around 11 p.m.
K-9 Sergeant Miller initiated the stop, with Deputies May, Hooper, and Carter assisting. When deputies asked the driver and passengers if there was anything illegal in the truck, all denied having any. The occupants also refused consent for a search, so an open-air K-9 sniff was conducted resulting in a positive alert on the passenger side of the vehicle.
Deputies then searched the truck and recovered nine individually packaged portions of fentanyl, along with multiple items of unlawful drug paraphernalia. The fentanyl was found concealed inside a gun-shaped lighter with a hidden compartment.
A 29 year-old white male from Madisonville, was arrested and booked into the Monroe County Jail – charged with possession of Schedule II fentanyl for resale and possession of drug paraphernalia.
We are thankful for the teamwork of our Bravo Shift Deputies and continued efforts of K-9 Tig in helping keep dangerous drugs off our streets.
