PUTNAM FIREFIGHTERS RESPOND TO STRUCTURE FIRE AND DISCOVER HUMAN REMAINS
In Putnam County, Tennessee, firefighters responding to a structure fire discovered human remains inside a single-wide trailer that had already collapsed to the ground.
While conducting a thorough search for hot spots in the debris, the crew located the body. Preliminary findings reveal the trailer had no electrical service at the time of the blaze.
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) is now leading the probe into whether the person was dead before the fire started, and foul play has not been ruled out. The remains, unidentifiable at the scene, were transported to the Medical Examiner’s Office for positive identification and autopsy.
The incident remains an active and ongoing investigation.
